The Trap of “Picking a Side” In The US-Iran War

The current conflict in March 2026 isn’t a clash of civilizations. It is a clash of cages. On one side, you have a theocracy that believes a woman’s hair is a weapon of mass destruction, demanding she be buried under fabric to preserve “sanctity.” On the other, you have an empire that claims moral superiority while operating a conveyor belt of flesh—where the Epstein list is not an anomaly, but a symptom of a culture that commodifies the female body until it is stripped of soul, then stripped of clothes.

One hides the woman; the other hollows her out. Both are obsessed with controlling the vessel. They are fighting over who owns the cage, not how to open the door.

The Third Arsonist

Then there is the third player, standing in the rubble, holding the matches. A state currently leveraging a tragedy to flatten a population and seize land, killing children by the thousands because the math of “security” demands it. They pour gasoline on the fire and call it “defense,” protected by the very empire mentioned above.

And what is the shield they all hide behind? Sovereignty.

It is the magic word the powerful chant to silence the screams. It is the get-out-of-jail-free card for atrocities. When an old man in a palace says “Sovereignty,” what he actually means is: “Stay out of my torture chamber.”

The Gerontocracy of Rot

The problem isn’t just the regime; it’s the rheumatism.

You hate old people. You are right to be suspicious. Look at the faces at the negotiating tables, the war rooms, the situation rooms.

  • Tehran: An 85-year-old Supreme Leader, shaking with age but steady in his conviction that he knows what God wants for 18-year-old girls.
  • Washington: A Senate where the average age qualifies for a seniors’ discount, clinging to power like a life raft, protecting a world order that existed before the internet—and before the current voters were even born.
  • Tel Aviv: A 74-year-old Prime Minister, fighting for his political survival by sending 19-year-olds to die in tunnels.

These men are not governing for the future; they are settling scores from the past. They are haunted by ghosts—1979, 1967, the Cold War—and they have decided that the present generation is just fuel for their old grudges.

This is why I hate them. It isn’t ageism; it is a survival instinct.

Young people have to live in the future these men are burning down. A 20-year-old in Gaza, Tehran, or New York has to breathe the toxic air these men leave behind. The old statesmen with dark souls have no skin in the game of “tomorrow.” They will be dead before the cancers set in, before the environmental collapse hits, before the demographic bombs explode.

They are playing a game of poker with chips that belong to their grandchildren, and they are betting the house.

The Trap of “Picking a Side”

The media machine screams at you: Pick a side! Are you with the oppressor of women or the exploiter of women? Are you with the dead children or the hostage takers?

It is a scam.

If you pick a side, you legitimize the game. You validate the idea that there is a “good” predator and a “bad” prey. But there is no good regime here. There are only varying degrees of brutality, differentiated only by the sophistication of their public relations teams.

  • The American PR team sells you “Freedom™” while the military industrial complex eats the world.
  • The Iranian PR team sells you “Piety™” while the morality police strangle it.
  • The Israeli PR team sells you “Democracy™” while it builds settlements on stolen graves.

The Human Condition

I side with the ones who refuse to pick up the gun. I side with the girl in Tehran removing her hijab in protest, and the girl in New York refusing to be an object for the algorithm. I side with the child in Gaza who just wants to drink clean water, and the conscientious objector in Tel Aviv who refuses to bomb her.

They are the revolution. The gray-haired men in the palaces? They are just the rot.

The world is not run by good versus evil. It is run by the past eating the future. And the only way to stop it is to stop listening to the old men who promise you safety in exchange for your soul. They are lying. They always have been.
